In order to further enhance the medical protection for international students during their studies in China and safeguard their legitimate rights and interests, Soochow University has decided to adjust and optimize the comprehensive insurance plan for international students. The relevant matters are hereby notified as follows:

All international students are required to purchase the comprehensive insurance (RMB 1,000/year; please refer to the insurance brochure for detailed coverage) in accordance with the following requirements:

  1. New international students who are currently overseas must purchase the comprehensive insurance before entering China;

  2.  New international students already in China and current students who have not yet purchased insurance must do so immediately;

  3.  Students who have previously purchased an older version of the insurance plan must upgrade to the new plan. The specific upgrade procedures will be announced separately.

Important Reminder:

Students who fail to purchase or upgrade the comprehensive insurance as required will be subject to the following measures:

- New students will not be permitted to complete the registration;

- Current students may face expulsion from the university.

All international students are required to take this matter seriously and comply strictly with the above regulations. For any inquiries, please contact the International Office.
