I. Program Overview
To promote student exchanges and research collaboration among international research groups and to help international students better understand Soochow University and China, our university will host the Discover Jiangsu International Summer Program. This program supports our faculty in inviting foreign students from collaborating research groups or foreign students interested in applying for doctoral degrees at our university to visit Soochow University for short-term visits from July to August this summer. In addition to conducting research in faculty research groups, students can also participate in cultural experiences and practical activities organized by the university. The visiting period for students is from July 1st to August 31st, 2024, with the maximum duration of the visit being two months.
II. Financial Support
Successfully admitted students will be exempt from tuition fees and will receive free accommodation in on-campus international student dormitories as well as a monthly living allowance of 3500 RMB (including insurance costs).
During the students' visit, the university will arrange cultural experiences and practical activities, including visits to museums, Suzhou gardens, and enterprises within Suzhou city, as well as intercultural exchange activities between Chinese and foreign students.
III. Application Requirements
1. Students must hold a foreign passport.
2.Students must be current undergraduate students at foreign universities, and exceptionally qualified undergraduate or master's graduates may also apply. Apply field: Science,Engineering,Agricultural,Medicine.
3.Students need to register on the Soochow University International Student Online Service System at http://iaa.suda.edu.cn/, and submit the following documents:
* Copy of the passport photo page (clear scan of a valid ordinary passport).
* Transcript: Proof of current academic performance or enrollment from the current school.
* Recommendation Letter from the applicant's home university advisor (including the advisor's name, position, contact number, and email address).
* Recommendation Letter from Soochow University advisor (please use the template provided).
* Personal Health Declaration (please use the template provided).
* Non-Criminal Record Affirmation (please use the template provided).
* Language Proficiency Proof: Proof of Chinese or English language proficiency, if applicable.
* Other Supplementary documents: Academic abilities and honors proof, if applicable.
